Yesterday was my first Saturday sit with the Zen group. The guys had let me know that Saturdays often have much larger groups, and I was not disappointed. I am pretty bad with names and only picked up a couple more even though I met probably ten folks. Two people were there from Wednesday. Yesterday I spent the evening farting around on the computer and watching TV. S. was out with friends till pretty late. I really think my TV watching is an addiction. S. and I bought a new slow cooker. This cooker wasn't too expensive and had a timer on it so that it could switch from cooking to warming. Our hope was to be able to do some cooking while we are at work. Yesterdays efforts were not great but not a complete loss. We tried making beef stew. My Arabic lessons are going pretty well. I have purchased a subscription to Rosetta Stone's online application. Very nice software and very instructional. I like that it teaches without doing any translating. It can make some of the grammar challenging but otherwise is pretty effective ( Read more... )
