Sam Gates Gets a Brother
Last time with the Gates Family, Celia and Clay broke up when Celia fell in love with Seth Nigel. Clay moved out and Seth moved in! Celia and Seth got married soon after and are now expecting their first baby together. And Sam became a teenager with raging hormones.
So Celia Gates is pregnant...very pregnant. She's huge! Just looking at her makes me have back pain. She's nearing her elder birthday, so this is a very late in life baby and will most likely be her last one.
Seth is much younger than Celia, and he doesn't have any other kids. So he is very excited about this new baby. But he's also a Romance sim, so he doesn't mind the fact that this will probably be the only baby he ever has...unless he finds another wife or girlfriend that is!
Celia finally goes into labor and delivers a very cute baby boy! That's two sons for Celia, and yet another boy in Little Hollywick (I swear my game is broken!). Seth is very happy that the baby is a boy and they name him Lucas (or Luke for short).
Baby Luke has his mother's black hair and turquoise eyes, and his daddy's tan skin. Celia is over the moon about this new baby, and she's determined to cherish every minute with him since he is her last. It'sbeen so long since Sam was a baby, but Celia quickly falls back into the mommy rhythm.
Seth has never even held a baby before, and neither has Sam. So Celia has to help them learn how to take care of a baby. And of course she is super protective of the little guy, so she never leaves his side no matter who's holding him. But Seth and Sam are good with him, and Sam is thrilled to finally have a sibling, even if there is such a large age gap between them.
Sam is so busy these days that he really doesn't have time to enjoy his little brother. He's not sure if he wants to go to college, but he figures it wouldn't hurt to build up some skills anyway. Besides, getting in shape means more love from the ladies, and Sam is all about loving the ladies.
He had a pretty hot fling with Susie Dingle for awhile, before she found another guy to replace him. But she still comes over from time to time just to "have fun". So Sam has been spending his time meeting other girls since he has a lot more free time now that Susie isn't around as much. He has a few girls on his speed dial, but none of them are serious yet.
And then there's his best friend, Liam Clock. He's pretty sure Liam is gay, and he's pretty sure Liam has a crush on him. He's seen Liam heart-farting over him on numerous occasions. Sam just doesn't know what to think about that. He really likes girls...and I do mean "really". But he's always had a soft spot for Liam, and he think it just might go beyond friendship. He'll just have to see where things go with this, but he's not saying anything to Liam until he knows what he wants.
Sam still gets to see quite a bit of his father, Clay Peshterianu. Clay lives a few miles away in the City Center of Little Hollywick, so he gets to make frequent visits. Sam and Clay are BFF's and it's really sweet to see them together.
Sam gets along with his step-father, Seth, too; but he still fills his dad in on every little detail about Seth that he can. Clay doesn't really speak to Celia anymore now that Sam is old enough to do it himself, so Sam is the only source of information that Clay has. Even knowing that his son gets along well with Seth, things are still awkward between the two of them whenever Clay comes to visit. Especially now that Seth and Celia are married and have a kid. Clay has definitely been replaced and they both know it.
Now that Celia is no longer pregnant, she can start back to work. She actually has 2 jobs. She still runs the Blueberry Bakery, but she's also trying to work her way up the culinary career ladder since she desperately wants to be a celebrity chef some day. She started out working at the bottom of the totem pole at a fast food joint, but she's worked her way up to being the Shift Manager. Still a long way from being a celebrity chef, but she hopes she'll make it eventually.
Meanwhile, Seth is working in the slacker career and received several promotions. He's now a Home Video Editor and has been booked for several weddings already.
With both of them working, it's hard to keep it all together when they've got a baby to take care of too. Luckily they have Sam to help out in the afternoons, but even then he's got homework and sports and skilling to do so he has a chance to go to college, not to mention all the girls he's got to spend time with. So Celia and Seth just take shifts for baby duty!
And Luke has turned out to be a very demanding baby to take care of. He needs constant attention or he'll give you a headache with his screaming.
Luckily, Luke had a birthday and is now a toddler. A very very very cute toddler at that! He's now able to keep himself occupied, for the most part. And look at that last picture. He got Celia's elf ears! Hurray! Sam does not have them, so I was really happy to see that Luke does.
He may be able to keep himself occupied now, but Seth and Celia have a whole new set of responsibilities with their toddler. He's got to be trained to walk, talk, and potty. And maybe a nursery rhyme or two. So they're even busier now than the were before!
But Celia doesn't mind one bit, because she knows how fast they grow up. And the next time she gets to hold a baby will be when one of these two boys gives her grandkids. So it may be awhile...although she heard those Uni students have babies like they have toga parties, which means all the time!
So she'll just enjoy her little family while she still can. Pretty soon the boys will be grown up and moved away. And it won't be too long until Celia will be old and gray; 1 or 2 simdays in fact. Time sure does fly by.

--I decided to split up the Uni updates. I was going to play through the next 3 years for the Uni students and have 3 updates and then the next graduation special, but that just seems like too much Uni at one time. So they'll be spaced in between family updates instead. This should help keep things flowing smoothly without getting burned out on one particular set of sims.
--So, sophomore year for the remaining Uni students will be up next.
