Here we are, back with the Uni kids of simday 40. Five students graduated on simday 39, so we're left with 6 remaining students, all of whom are starting their sophomore year.
Mia Marsh found out that she was pregnant on simday 39 and that her grades were so poor that she was put on academic probation and forced to repeat her first freshman semester. Her brother insisted that she move out of the dorms and into his rented house so that she could focus on her schoolwork with minimal distractions. Mia was able to pull her grades up while living with her brother, and she really enjoyed helping take care of her baby niece, Jolie. But now her brother has graduated and moved out of the house, so she's left all alone to finish her time at Uni. Her grades are still doing well, but boy is it lonely and boring living all alone!
She still keeps in touch with her old friends from the dorms. But being pregnant really puts a damper on the Uni experience. She can't party or drink, or stay out late. Boys don't really want anything to do with her, and her friends all seem to be so busy with their own fun and exciting lives.
Her best friend, Gloria Sheffield, comes over a lot to hang out with her. They do their homework together and things almost feel back to normal when she has Gloria around.
And then she got the news that Gloria is dating Dewey Dingle, who just so happens to be the father of the baby that Mia is carrying! Mia has never been the one-man-at-a-time kind of gal, so she wasn't surprised that Dewey didn't want to wait around for her to change her mind about a monogamous relationship with him. But for him to go and date her best friend? She wasn't sure how to feel about it at first, but they've slowly come to terms with the weird situation they're all in, and are slowly rebuilding their friendship.
Dewey and Gloria spend a lot of time over at Mia's house, which Mia is very thankful for since her house was broken into. It's scary living by yourself, and being pregnant on top of it all. So Mia is thankful for her good friends, and for her new alarm system that her brother demanded to be installed.
After seeing how not fun it is to be pregnant so young and miss your entire Uni experience, Mia's friends have decided to take extra measures to ensure that the same thing does not happen to them!
And it's just as well, because their sophomore year has been pretty rough so far. The kids spent the entire year studying and trying to raise their skills just so they could pass their classes. They had no idea it would be this tough!
Unlike previous years in this dorm, the students didn't have a lot of time for anything other than studying and skilling. None of them had superb grades going into their sophomore year, so they all had to work extra hard to keep up with their new classes.
There was still some time for fun, though. At least Gloria and Stuart took frequent trips to the bar for a little fun in between studying. That bar sure does get a lot of use with these two living in the dorm!
And of course, there was still a little time left over for romance. Dewey and Gloria continued in their relationship, both confident in the fact that there was no way Gloria would be getting pregnant. Dewey is scared enough about the one baby he has on the way, he can't imagine what it would be like if he had two!
He still had moments where he just wasn't sure he was doing the right thing. He still loved Mia and if he was really truthful with himself, he'd find that he would love to be with her and raise their baby together. But Mia just didn't want to settle down, and she definitely didn't want a full boyfriend or husband for that matter. So he continued to fall in love with Gloria, which made him feel guilty about Mia all over again. But this was her choice, and there's nothing he could do about it.
Meanwhile, Ella Clock continued her blossoming love affair with Jimmy Phoenix. They are still not officially dating, but they sure do spend a lot of time together. And Ella went on birth control just as a precaution; she's not even sleeping with Jimmy or anyone else for that matter, but she hopes things will go that way with Jimmy soon!
Last simday, Roger Belby had a little fling with Melanie Neville, but they seemed to have cooled off on that relationship. Roger has found himself smitten with a very cute and boisterous red-headed cheerleader. Things are still just light and fun right now, but who knows what will happen with these two in the future.
And then there's poor Stuart Downie. He fell hard for Rose Sheffield during his freshman year and they quickly became a couple. They're coming up on their 2 year anniversary, but this year has been hard for them. Rose graduated last year and moved out to a rural area of Little Hollywick to continue her studies on the cross-breeding of rare plant species, so they don't see a lot of each other. And Stuart has been really focusing on his schoolwork this year, so the only romance they've had has been on their frequent phone calls. They're both still wanting to get engaged, but Stuart doesn't want to have to propose to the love of his life over a long-distance phone call. So he'll just wait until the time is right to pop the question.

Game Notes:
--This year was eerily quiet for these students. I've gotten so used to being overwhelmed with their romantic exploits that it was a shock to me when they all started rolling wants to study and skill. I'm not used to the lack of woohoo in this dorm!
--So I'm using a new pregnancy timing method for Uni students. Previously, they would get pregnant and have their baby 3 game days later as normal. But since my Uni time schedule is 2 semesters = 1 simday (to keep it in line with the normal hood aging schedule), I've decided that pregnant uni students need to be pregnant for 3 simdays instead of 3 game days. So Mia Marsh should have had her baby back in the second semester of her freshman year (that would have been 3 game days), but instead she will have the baby during her senior year (which would be 3 simdays). So she'll be pregnant simdays 39-41 and have the baby on simday 42. I know that's pretty technical, but it makes sense to me! Any questions or comments are welcome on this as I know it's pretty hard to explain and understand, lol.
--I'm going to try to shoot for the high school prom to be next, so it might take a few days for me to get that set up, pictures taken and edited, and posted. Stay tuned! Edit: I forgot that I had planned for the prom to take place on simday 42, so it's actually not going to be coming up next. It will be a few posts from now instead!
