As I had rather (more than rather) feared, the clothes shopping expedition today was a bust. I saw only one pair of black slacks that looked decent, only to find that 'my size' was very different then 'my size' in my favorite shop (which has since closed).

I'm testing the VCR function of the unit today. It's working, but we'll see whether it automatically rewinds at the end. It should, it's a commercial video I'm testing.
