Stopped by Goodwill today and picked up some interesting books - primarily WWII/ Holocaust stuff, but also some other things. At the bookstore today to fuel my addiction to the written word. Lots of sale type goodness - picked up An Inconvenient Truth, It Happened in New Jersey (for my brother Ron's birthday), and a couple of WWII photo books - one on Nazi Germany (in color) , and one with Associated Press images of the war. Tonight's historical society meeting was pretty sweet - we learned about these things called spungs which are ponds that were formed from way back when this area was a big hunk of ice. All the way up to 12,000 years ago or so, South Jersey had permafrost just like up in the arctic. They talked about how the ecology of the area affected what ( Read more... )
