Today I opened up the paper to the obituaries, which is my habit because of my job and I'm morbid that way. The first obituary, dead center of the page, was my first love. He was just 50. I wouldn't have known him in a million years from the photo, not because he looked bad, but just because 30 years later, he looked nothing like what I remember.

After the shooting today in France, I read an interesting post about the quality of the images being put forth by the editors. Basically it was racist shlock. Against everyone. Crap cartoons. It's cold… It hasn't been this cold in quite a while around here.

We got about 12-16 inches of snow. Its really hard to tell with the drifting. Light light light stuff. The roads are a mess still.
