I got back from vacation on Sunday, actually, but as tends to happen, the pile-up of work during an extended absence has kept me very very busy all week, exacerbated by the fact that our new students arrive shortly and next week will be full of orientation events, then on to the semester. I'm off on vacation today - a week in Montreal, then a week in Maine. Not taking the laptop so probably won't check even my personal email much if at all. I am taking the proffered drabble prompts, though, so there might be some longhand writing.

Got back from our brief trip to St. Louis tonight. It was a very nice visit; we went to the zoo and saw puffins (SO's favorite), the art museum for a preview tour (with the curator!) of an exhibition on Federico Barocci (a late Renaissance/early Baroque artist), and the symphony (a concert with mostly Vivaldi, and lots of bassoons).
