Finished sewing a new flannel nightgown last night. Decided at the very last moment to add elastic at the wrists, so the wristbands are a little wonky, but otherwise I'm very happy with it. Purple flannel with a small white snowflake pattern, eyelet lace at the ankle-length hem, wrists, and across the bodice, with a 2-button placket and pockets. SO ( Read more... )

• I finished a blouse in time to wear it on Sunday to my book club (it's a summer blouse, made of crinkle gauze, so probably not work-appropriate and there won't be many if any more chances to wear it this calendar year)

Usual weekend stuff. Six loads of laundry, grocery shopping, much cooking. Also I just finished sewing a new vest for SO, which will be his anniversary present the week after next. :) Hanging out with the dogs (who have bones) at the moment, will shortly go grill things for dinner.

On the vest for SO. Still need to finish sewing up the sides, make buttonholes/sew on buttons, sew on the belt buckle, and topstitch the whole thing.

In which I walked Juno, went to the dentist, found a beef roast for Friday (for me, all for me! - SO is having Cornish game hen), did 5 loads of laundry, and worked on SO's vest. Yuletide fic is done, I've started on SO's gift vest (cut & marked all fabric tonight - had to recut one piece, luckily had enough extra fabric to do so), got my hair cut, purchased some red napkins (one of the four we had having mysteriously vanished about 10 days ago), and made pizza for dinner.
