Good things and not-so-good things and ficlets

Good stuff:
  • I finished a blouse in time to wear it on Sunday to my book club (it's a summer blouse, made of crinkle gauze, so probably not work-appropriate and there won't be many if any more chances to wear it this calendar year)
  • I wrote a couple of teenyfics (links at the end of this post)
  • One of the other library staff turns out to LOVE arugula, so I have someone to give it to when we get it from our CSA
  • My SO is going to be gone for several days at the end of this week, so I get to eat red meat for dinner. ;-)
  • Today my campus celebrated Indigenous Peoples' Day instead of Columbus Day.
  • I'm rereading one of my own old fics (Better Than Revenge) and it's holding up surprisingly well, if I do say so myself.

Not-so-good stuff:
  • The sinus infection that was a bonus from the tooth I had to have pulled in August is still lingering. Thankfully it's only on one side, but seriously, I had no idea that the human body could produce this much snot on an ongoing basis. I think I am single-handedly boosting the entire tissue industry. Finally called my doctor's office this morning to see if I could get in and maybe get antibiotics or something, but their appointment system were down. They were supposed to call back, but haven't yet; I don't know if the system is still being wonky or if I have been forgotten. Guess I'll try back tomorrow if I hear nothing by the end of today.
  • All the mass shooting incidents are seriously getting me down. But what's even worse is that they are becoming almost routine.
  • The pressure in my eyes (glaucoma) is still higher than it should be, although better than it was.
