Everywhere I go I see, in the YA sector, people going, “NO MORE VAMPIRES!” and other words to that effect.

Every time I see that, though, I just want to yell back, “BUT MINE AREN’T IN HIGH SCHOOL!”

In other news, I’m wading my way through some awkward scenes for Lionheart - they’re awkward because my brain wants to get to the awesome scenes but I know I have to do these scenes for context, world-building and to start peeling away at the backstory of a main character. Talking to my friend Rebekah about NaNo, which is all sorts of fun. It's 1am, which is not. And somehow I get to talking about how lame one character, Ciar, actually is. He was originally created to be "Edward Cullen sneaking into your room because I looooove you" played straight, and a straight-out villain... and then he got character development ( Read more... )

Note: I know my characters are not real, and I control them, but that doesn't keep the part of my brain that houses them from getting uppity at times.
