In the last 48 hours I

- had taekwon-do class
- played racquetball (with Roommate...and narrowly won)
- spent about 45 minutes lifting
- played racquetball again (with a friend...and narrowly won)

Ouch.

What and when was your last exercise?

Friday I did nothing. Well, not nothing, I watched a lot of TV. Almost all of my friends were either busy or out of town, I was pretty exhausted after a long week, and I had taekwondo belt testing the next morning, so I didn't want to be out late anyway. Alright, enough politics for one morning.

My taekwondo school, Sorce Martial Arts, had a sparring clinic on Sunday, so I bought all my sparring gear and went. Sparring is clearly my weakest aspect of TKD, and I tend to get myself much more worked up and intense than I need to (depleting my energy rather quicky), but MAN IS IT FUN. I had my first Taekwondo belt test on Saturday. I demonstrated basic striking and kicking techniques, two (two others were unnecessary) one-step sparring techniques, two holding techniques, and a twenty step form (a sequence of moves in a specific order and direction), appropriately entitled Basic One ( Read more... )

In my sophomore year of college, a friend invited my roommate and I to attend Taekwondo classes with him for their free-trial period. We went a few times and I LOVED it. I'm still working out all the reasons why I enjoyed it so much, but one of them was probably when the instructor came by and asked me what kind of martial arts I had done before. ( Read more... )
