weekend round up
Friday I did nothing. Well, not nothing, I watched a lot of TV. Almost all of my friends were either busy or out of town, I was pretty exhausted after a long week, and I had taekwondo belt testing the next morning, so I didn't want to be out late anyway. I did watch BSG in near-real time and, as I said in my last post, was very satisfied. Best episode this season and finally reminiscent of the greatness of Season 3. Starbuck felt like Starbuck again, Good stuff withn Anders, Natalie, Bill & Laura. Let's hope they continue to meet this bar.
Belt testing went very well. The form went well, I remembered all the techniques I needed, and I broke the board with a skipping axe kick on my first try. I even got a photo of the board break, but I don't have my camera with me, so I'll have to upload pics later. I'll get my yellow belt at a little graduation ceremony this Sunday.
I bought Mario Kart Wii Saturday afternoon. It's really better than I expected. It's at the point that I forget sometimes at the end of the race just how I got there because the driving is no natural. One of the best applications of motion sensing thus far, in my opinion (that I've played, anyway). I'll post my code later, and I'll need to get everyone else's too, so be on the look out for that post.
Finally saw Iron Man Saturday night. Also better than expected. I really enjoyed Downey's portrayal - the smirk with the final line was great. And yes, I stayed until after the credits and all I can say is excellent casting choice. Can't wait for a sequel, assuming it gets green lit.
Finally, I went to a huge brunch with my parents, sister, her husband, and their kids for Mother's Day. There were just ridiculous amounts of food. I had six (6) types of meat on my plate at once. And that was just the first plate. I'm surprised I didn't have a heart attack before leaving the booth. After seeing the family, I spent the day doing some much needed spring cleaning (I can finally see my bedroom floor again!) and laundry and such.
