I suspect Lola might have a bad tooth. Her jaw seems to be a bit sore and she has smelly breath, which she never used to have. I wanted to take her to the vet, but then the weather got so cold I didn't have the heart to take her outside. I don't think it hurts her, not much anyway, she eats and plays like she always does. Is it possible to catch a cold from someone through the internet? Because all over my friends list I see people posting about their colds and yesterday I got the sniffles myself, even though I haven't been in contact with anyone sick. Or maybe I should just go easy on ice cream...

Lola's had symptoms of another bladder infection since Sunday. She got shots on Monday, Tuesday and today, but whereas previously the meds helped after a few hours, this time two days haven't made much of a change. I've noticed something quite troubling this afternoon. Lola went to the litterbox, she spent an unusually long time there, but when she left I saw she peed only a little and there was blood in the urine. I had an appointment on Tuesday. The doctor was very nice and professional. She checked my throat and nose and had a diagnosis right away. In all likelihood I'm suffering from a very persisten viral infection. My two weeks off from work start tomorrow and for the last few days my students have been asking me what my plans were. They were all very sorry for me when I told them I didn't plan to travel anywhere, but I don't mind. I'm not a big fan of winter, so travelling in winter holds no appeal whatsoever for me.
