Been waiting for this series for so long! The seven part adaptation of Susanna Clarke's novel starts Sunday BBC One 9pm. :-)

Belated new year greetings. The festive season is almost over for most today. Despite 6 January being not till Tuesday, I have taken down the tree and tomorrow begins this first normal working week of the year.

Since I last posted about my reading matter, I have worked my way through the entire 'Mary Russell' series by Laurie R King. Easy reading and enjoyable nonsense for the most part. I admit that I was hooked early. The Kindle free sample chapter had me intrigued. I already knew something about the debut novel from seeing the author Samantha Shannon interviewed on television. I was immediately amused by the fact that the story was inspired by an area of central London close to Covent Garden where the author had done a brief ( Read more... )

Buying a Kindle was supposed to stop me buying so many books, but alas, all it means is that I am even more inclined than before to have two novels on the go at the same time. :-)
