Last night I dreamt that I went to the theatre to see Benedict Cumberbatch perform a one man comedy gig. It was so dire that half of the audience had left before the interval, by which time he was down in the stalls aisle trying to corale the remainder together into the central front stalls. Thoughts upon seeing The Imitation Game
Today I went to see The Imitation Game, the biographical drama based on the secret war work and tragic demise of Alan Turing (1912-1954) starring Benedict Cumberbatch. The male support cast (including Charles Dance, Rory Kinnear, Mark Strong and Matthew Goode) also had me interested, as did the subject matter given the somewhat bizarre posthumous ( Read more... ) -

Something rotten in the state of theatre ticket sales
So this morning I capitulated and, against my own better judgement, bought Orange membership for the Barbican in order to procure a ticket to see Benedict Cumberbatch play Hamlet in autumn 2015.

The Imitation Game
Looking forward to seeing this film so much! Such a good cast. :-)
Premiering at the BFI London Film Festival on 8 October. Us ordinary mortals without access to that event will need to wait until general release - 14 November in the UK.
