I've had to borrow my friend's car and drive to work every day! Because there is a transit strike here, and a winter storm every few days.. Luckily she is in Tanzania until the end of the month. I have this weird new favourite place for hanging out.. It's on top of this huge hill beside Hurdman Station that's basically an old garbage dump covered in tall grass, milkweed and wildflowers :( There is a network of beaten paths criscrossing it and someone kindly carried an old picnic table up there. The weather is turning nice soon, I plan to start biking. I'm going to try to tighten the brakes on my bike in the next hour before going to work, but I'm also thinking of buying a new bike this spring. Ho ho! Remember when I said that I saw my highschool best friend and that some paparazzi were snapping photos all around? It turns out that, thanks to the tip of one Mr. Galipü, our picture was printed in the newspaper on the "XPOSED!" page. Haw haw...

Heh heh.. Rockcliffe Park (the rich neighborhood where I work) really reminded me today of a combination of Iqaluit and Los Angeles. On one hand it had bleak grey houses, blowing snowdrifts and empty cars left running in most driveways so they wouldn't freeze..but then there were still bored/jackass blond teenagers walking around and "coloured" ( Read more... )
