I finished Alora's new dress and cincher set today. In theory, the cincher worked out exactly like it should have, but I chose the wrong kind of cloth for it. It's a beautiful color, and Alora's favorite, but it's a thick cloth and rather slick. My sewing machine HATED it, so there are problems with the stitching. The contest has officially ended, and of course I came nowhere near winning. But I have no regrets, as the entries were AMAZING, there were a ton of them, and I know I'll get a lot of use out of this outfit. I'm not sure I would have bothered making this if not for the contest.

So, I posted a while back about my Bobobie Mei's face-up being damaged, and today I think the chip in her lip is only getting worse. So I asked my husband if I could buy a blank doll head to practice face-ups on, because I've decided I can and should fix her myself so that I can get the look I really want. I got Alora out to draft some clothing ideas today, and to play with her posing some more. I was having all kinds of fun and really enjoying her, and even getting some new posing down, when I was stopped short. Despite feeling fat all day when my clothes didn't fit, I still found time to take a few pictures of Alora with my China Doll plant today. I love using it as a background if only because of the name!
