Sock Couture is over!

The contest has officially ended, and of course I came nowhere near winning. But I have no regrets, as the entries were AMAZING, there were a ton of them, and I know I'll get a lot of use out of this outfit. I'm not sure I would have bothered making this if not for the contest.

Another thing that makes me happy, besides having a good outfit for Alora, is that a couple of the shots I took for the contest turned out really well. I just don't have enough good photos of this gorgeous girl, and I was itching to show these off.

I'm still designing clothes like mad. I've got a few outfits for Mehka's everyday wear, she's kind of settling into a modern-vintage feel like I was hoping. A lot of her clothing has a 60s look because she likes wearing pants, but it's more elegant than bohemian thanks to print and accessory choices. I'm also working on some "in character" outfits- my BJD wishlist has been transformed into characters for my novel, which has a victorian/steampunk-esque setting, and I would love it if they could each have at least one outfit that they would wear in that world. It's too fussy for everyday use, but a lot of fun to design.

I'm very excited- I get to order a body for Mehka in the upcoming week! She's a (late) gift for our anniversary. Technically, I'm ordering a body that Mehka and Brynn will share, because the a-line body I want requires ordering a head too, and I'm going to go ahead and get the Miyu head. I already have her eyes, because the DD-Anne eyes I ordered came yesterday and the eyes I chose for Brynn are the perfect color. Mehka's are not quite as yellow as I had hoped, but they will do, and they're very pretty even if they're not precisely what I wanted. In fact, they're close enough and pretty enough that I might not bother replacing them. I hate changing eyes. I'm not sure why, but I do.

If I'm going to have another MSD around, I need more shoes. Alora only has one pair. I'm going to shop around and see if I can talk my husband into a couple of pairs.

My poor Pullips must feel so neglected. I love them and I've played with them, but I'm definitely in BJD mode lately. I'm also strongly considering selling my Souseiseki, Brydgette. She was kind of an impulse purchase and we've never really bonded that well. Her character doesn't really fit into my Pullips' "storyline" either. It would be great if she could go somewhere I knew she would be loved- anyone interested in owning a re-chipped, Obitsu'ed Sou?
