Time flies and I can't believe it's only two more days until Christmas Eve. We've been having a few weeks of ups and downs, dad lost some more weight for a few weeks, but at today's weigh-in he had finally gained 1.6 kg!! Now up at 74.4 kg.  Yay. What a wonderful christmas present for us all.

Merry Christmas to you all!! Today it's raining in Gothenburg and we will eat our traditional Lutfisk and Risgrynsgröt later tonight. And yes I do love the lutfisk! It's such a change from the fatty ham and meatballs and Janson's Temptation of yesterday. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Ah, so much for no snow in Gothenburg! We got hit by the blizzard last night, and this morning the world was white. It IS incredibly beautiful, but I was quite happy to stay in and do household chores. Today was cleaning day at the parents'. From one sofa to another.. Hanging out on the parents' sofa since Friday more ore less. I'm just back from cleaning my staircase. They've re-established the 4-week rota in our building again, every apartment-owner has to clean the stairs once ever 4th week. I'm still annoyed and wouldn't mind the extra 100 SEK on the rent for not having to do it, but they decided it at a meeting I didn't attend so my own bloody fault for not caring ( Read more... )

I made a kind of soft nougat yesterday - the Swedish recipe called it "meringue fudge", but it's really not fudgy at all. Never tried it before, and I might have been a little too cautious with the temperature of the hot sugar, it could have been slightly warmer for the mixture.
