It felt cold when I woke up this morning, but then it feels colder outside the covers than under most mornings. But by the time I got out to the living room, I shouldn't have felt as cold as I did. The HVAC guy on Tuesday said that the technicians were scheduled for 8:00, but might be here as early as 7:30. So I was up and dressed just in case. I moved the furniture around in the living room to clear a path (because everything has to go through my living room to get to the door to the deck and the furnace room off my deck). I am sad to report that when I swept the deck to clear it for the HVAC guys to replace my furnace today that there was at least one froggie corpse buried in the leaves.

My furnace has been making a horrible racket lately. So I finally got over myself and called one of the local HVAC places that I know has done work around my condo complex and booked a tune-up. Well, I think my dryer (as in washer/dryer) just kicked the bucket. It buzzed, and I went to check the load in there, and it wouldn't start when I decided it needed a bit more time. I tried all the buttons, but when you push "start" nothing happens, no noise, no click, no nothing.

Since the temperatures have plummeted the past couple of days, I’ve been waking up with a horrible case of cotton mouth because the furnace has been running so much. Mouth breathing, ugh. So I finally broke out the humidifiers yesterday. One for the bedroom and one in the kitchen.

I can already tell they’re making a difference. So much better!

The plumber is finally here to look at the noisy water heater. I heard him out in the hallway talking to my neighbor, so I put on my robe and went out to add my two cents. Since it's not currently thumping, the plumber was happy that the two of us could tell him what the noise sounded like. He's kinda baffled as to what it might be. But at ( Read more... )

Even though I called it in on Monday (and made sure I took the cell phone out in the hallway so they could hear for themselves!) the water heater is still making loud noises.

I guess I'm just going to have to keep listening to the damned thing until it explodes or something. *sighs*
