Trying to pack everything I want to bring has brought me closer to praying than I've come in years.

So, I graduated today.

I now have a very nice, creamy, thick, watermarked piece of paper certifying that the Continuing Education Board of Oxford University has determined my exam results are up to snuff.  That's basically how they put it, which makes sense when you consider the way most of Oxford works--basically, your entire grade is based on your ( Read more... )

I'm sitting above Oxford's High Street, which is currently being torn up by big yellow machines.

Other than the construction, Oxford is about how I remember it. I really do love it here. Dunno why Hawking works at The Other Place. I do get lost sometimes, but it's fun getting lost-you see interesting things ( Read more... )

So, I'm about an hour from England as I write this. (I'll post it sometime after I get there.) Getting to this point, however, was something of an adventure.

Most of the trips I go on give me a few big grins-an hour spent on a Sea-Doo in Michigan, thirty minutes in a cruise's comedy show, a few minutes on Space Mountain at Disneyland. This one, though, is all small, constant smiles.

And you know what? I think I like that better.
