I'm still up at our condo at Deerhurst, and enjoying every minute of it (mostly). The kids and I came up Saturday evening, as did my sister and her kids. My daughter and I leave for Montreal on Monday morning (4 a.m.), and since she's working Sat. and Sun. we spent today running around getting everything done that we needed to do. Lately I've been reading a series of books by Arnaldur Indridason; I'm up to the fourth book now and went online to buy the ebook version only to discover that they wanted $11.39 for the paper version but $13.99 for the ebook. Where I live (Canada), our tv stations are switching over from analog to digital by the end of this month. This means a change in the channel that each station comes in on. Apparently, I can book a 12 day trip out West in a single day. I needed to book six different hotels in 4 different locations and two flights; I got it all done except for the outgoing flight and the hotel for the last night. So, yay me. I tried to check-in online for my daughter this morning. Her internet access is shaky at best, so we planned that this would be easier. Right. Simple. Go to Lufthansa website and check in; done it a million times. Except this time it wouldn't let me. Finally called the airline. Summer's end is bittersweet this year. It's sad that already the days are shorter and the nights cooler. I loved sitting out in the backyard, just a book, my kitty, and I. It's 7 p.m. The airport shuttle picks me up in 10 hours. And I'm not running around like a chicken with it's head cut off (my usual performance the night before a holiday).
