It's so hard for me to keep my eyes open past 10pm. I re-watched Iron Man last night and I think I'm moving on to 2 and working on applications today!

I saw Batman after work yesterday! I'm increasingly aware that I have a serious thing for dark superhero stories. These feel so American, so heroic, so real, so grand. I feel at home and utterly inside of them. I wonder if this is what draws us in?

I worked yesterday (even though it was a public holiday) and went to see Thermae Romae after work. It was funny, and Abe Hiroshi was naked for most of it. Not bad. I went to a movie alone for the first time today. It wasn't intentional, but I had a feeling I'd get canceled on and couldn't be bothered to reschedule.

I went to see the Phoenix Wright (Gyakuten saiban) movie yesterday with a random guy. Had some time to kill, went to Namja town in Sunshine City and tried garlic and mint ice cream, a specialty of Aomori. True to its word -- flavor of garlic and mint, with mint being the base. Youth exchange program in Vermont round two.

I spent 10+ hours with plus or minus one inch of knee space in a United plane (without individual monitors!) because the crazy Thai woman in front of me had her seat reclined to its limit for the entire duration of the flight.

The city I live in is surrounded on the North by mountains, and on second thought, you will probably run into either mountains or ocean if you go any other direction, too.

My friend and I went to climb one of the closer mountains today, and we decided to bring lunches and have a picnic at the top. I remembered that vertical climbing is haaaaaard. ( Read more... )
