before I sleep forever
Youth exchange program in Vermont round two.
I spent 10+ hours with plus or minus one inch of knee space in a United plane (without individual monitors!) because the crazy Thai woman in front of me had her seat reclined to its limit for the entire duration of the flight.
Morning Glory is an adorable movie.
Haneda was normal, Narita was crowded and full of tense foreigners (mostly Chinese/Taiwanese/Koreans, though) with masks on.
My flight was nearly full, and I guess there was a medical emergency near the end so we had to wait before we could get off. As a result I got a couple of thousand apology miles, though!
It took so. fucking. long. for everyone to get through immigration. I only got to see my brother for like 15 minutes (even though he and his family waited like two hours for me). My niece and nephew are huge now. It's terrifying!! I saw them less than two years ago and they were still little and cute......
I'm staying at a principal's house for the week. He and his family are really nice, and their house is really nice, and they have three dogs. I think it's going to be a good week!
I have been in transit for about 26 hours now, and I've gotten maybe 4 hours of sleep? Due to collapse-- now!
