I am appropriately gleeful about the return of Glee tonight. I've missed not only the show itself, but having new songs on iTunes every week! It annoys me that it's on at 9:25 p.m. and that Global in Canada is showing it at that ridiculous time, too. Usually we don't have to put up with such American Idol/Fox-dictated nonsense. I am so in love with Southland and so afraid that TNT will not order any new eps and that I'm going to have to go through withdrawal all over again. Amaury Nalasco is a great addition as Regina King's new partner, and I'm very happy to see him in a role that doesn't do my head in. (I couldn't stand Sucre on Prison Break. He was just so stupid!) I've always been a staunch defender of Lost, but this season's lack of -- excuse the pun -- bombshells tested even my patience. Spent the first twenty minutes of work talking about Lost with co-workers before moving on to the Oscar nominations. I'm thrilled for Melissa Leo's nomination! I don't talk about it often, but DAMN, Mad Men S2 was so good. I love, love, love this show. I really admire how patient the storytelling is, and that we'll get little nuggets of information over time, but not the full story until the writers are good and ready to give it to us. It's SUCH a welcome balm to the shows that are trying to give answers ( Read more... )

TIFF has not disappointed this year. bliss_ and I saw four excellent movies this weekend and had a blast.
