After four months back in a REAL gym, I’m now seeing positive gains as I’m almost back at strength levels that I had when I was in my mid 20’s. I weigh 175lbs and believe I’ll end up at 185lbs if I can squat double my bodyweight [max 275 at moment]. I’m 5’10” for reference.

This is definitely a case of over-training. During today’s attempt at working out, it became obvious that I should “abort”. A 30-minute warm-up walk on a treadmill clued me in that this might not be something to push through. Then two sets of free weights with light-weight verified it -get some rest.

In order to prepare for working a tech-window, I put in a heavy back and leg workout in the gym on Friday. Saturday for lunch, I took my favorite over-the-counter sleeping pill, a Tex-Mex plate plus a margarita.

After two workouts at each gym, I’ve gone with L.A.Fitness. Better location and facilities. I did find 24 Hour Fitness to be amusing for people watching:

--1800’s Strongman in a solid black leotard, though no greased mustache
--Hot blonde lady with meaty C-cups jumping rope in the free-weight area
--Prison-yard tattoo displays. Support the arts.

Work went quiet and quick - I actually got some things done while goofing off. Monday is when everything gets back to “normal”. Let’s see if the big dollar projects get approved this month or if it gets drug out into the end of February.
