Last night I watched Brokeback Mountain for the first time. (Yeah, yeah I know: "OMG! How can you have not seen Brokeback Mountain!?") It moved me to tears, which is incredible because I hardly ever cry at films. I woke up in the middle of the night with the first two lines for this poem in my head and they wouldn't go away until I'd written it.

For anyone who's ever been told "it's just... wrong!" This started out quite sweet and romantic but wound up quite brutal. Not sure why.

This poem came about from my sitting in an empty theater. It's a very creepy experience. Sorry if it gets a bit depressing towards the end.

A theater is so lifeless,
So devoid of character
When missing its audience.

I stand on the stage

Where I live there are lots of what are known as emos and chavs. They gangs of teenagers and have been known to fight (or more accurately, the chavs have been known to attack the emos). It set me wondering as to what these two groups, who seem so different, might have in common ( Read more... )

I am a Young Leader with a local Brownie pack. That many 7-10 year olds can be very frightening. This is how I feel about them sometimes.

I think I'm scared of my Brownies.
