For anyone who's ever been told "it's just... wrong!" This started out quite sweet and romantic but wound up quite brutal. Not sure why.

Can it ever be wrong to love beauty?
To see the twinkle of stars in her eyes,
As she lights dark rooms with just a laugh, or
The satin shimmer of hair on the crown
Of the warrior princess who captured
My heart? She takes my breath away, then takes
Fear and loneliness and sorrow, binds them
To the stake, let's our flames engulf them. We
Watch them burn. Nights are colder without her,
Safe in my arms, protected together.
If I start to crack under life's strain, then
Her whispered kiss: "I love you" rebuilds my
Broken will. My fingers through her's I curl
And I can go out ready to face the world.

love, poetry, romantic
