It's been raining here since about 4 PM yesterday. It's very wet. The stray cats are hanging out on my porch to keep dry.

Scylla really, really likes dairy products, so anytime there is dairy to be consumed, it's a good idea to eat at the table with all of the unoccupied chairs pushed in. I took Gus in for her kitten check up and first round of vaccinations today. Unfortunately, she tested positive for FIV. I was pretty crushed. I did cry a bit. I wanted to buy a copy of Zombieland last night. Little did I know that the task would not be as simple as I had thought. All of the Best Buy stores in Oklahoma are completely sold out. Instead of making the version of Planet of the Apes that he made, which eas completely forgettable except for the WTF ending, he should have licensed the rights for Stop the Planet of the Apes, I Want to Get Off from FOX, and made a movie version of that, instead.

That would have been so much more interesting.

Hulu has just posted "On Any Sunday". This is a fantastic and classic documentary about motorcycle racing from 1971. It is an amazing documentary, and you'll probably enjoy it. Here is a direct link. Go watch. It's serious art.

Even if you don't ride, you must watch this.

...and I enjoyed it. It was a LONG movie, but pretty good. Though closer to the end, whenever they cut back to the Dr. Manhattan storyline, I would kinda sigh to myself and wish they'd get one with it, as those bits were kinda slow. Over the weekend korosz and I went to see Push. It's actually one of the best "people with strange mental powers" movies that I've seen. The things I particularly liked were the cinematography (no shaky-cam and no overuse of jump-cuts in an action scene), the lack of big name, low talent stars (I'm looking at you, Keanu), and the fact that the movie ( Read more... )
