It sounds like a decent plan, building a destination around a preserved ballfield. It makes me wish other old-time stadiums could have had their fields preserved.

Okay, which former MLB parks are still standing? Off the top of my head, I came up with the Astrodome, Monster Park (or Candlestick), Qualcomm, Olympic Stadium, and the LA Coliseum (home to the Dodgers 1957-61). Correct me if I'm wrong on any of those. But what others are there ( Read more... )

With SBC announcing that they'll use the AT&T name once their merger is complete, does this mean SBC Park in San Francisco will have to change its name yet again (it would be the third name in its six years)? A week ago Tuesday I attended The Cardinals Brewers game at Busch. I sat In sec 379 row 6 which is the lower part of the upper deck down the 3rd base line. The stadium reminds me alot of the way Cinergy Field looked before they tore out the OF seats. The place was packed despite the Brewers being in town and the fans were really behind the team.
