Kim came home yesterday and had requested 'real food' for supper.  I made a Marion Cunningham type of meal; meatloaf, mashed potatoes, steamed baby carrots, peas, and creamed corn. There were many groans of pleasure around the full table last night, and Kim ate leftovers for breakfast ( Read more... )

After bedtime attempt #2 failed last night, I put on my mp3 player and nursed Charlotte to sleep in the recliner, then put her in her bed.  She slept for half an hour, long enough for me to share my mp3 player with Jack and get a back rub.  Be grateful for the small things, right?

Jack, the girls, and I went to church together this morning.  It has been a *very* long time since we all went together.  I often send the girls to Sunday School and then I go to church alone while Jack is working.  It was nice to be there all together.  I haven't been to church in about three weeks so I could see people surprised and happy to see ( Read more... )

We skipped church today and Julia was very disappointed.  Unfortunately, her experience of church is playing in the nursery and playing tag downstairs with her friends and I was not prepared to get us there just for that.

I was at church this morning and a young couple came in with their new baby in a car seat.  I had to take a few deep breaths but I thought it would be fine, I could handle seeing a tiny baby.  It's been many months since I've seen a newborn up close - they are usually bundled in car seats and propped in shopping carts so I don't see them.  As I sat ( Read more... )
