just some little things I want to remember

* Jack and Charlotte were playing with her big rubber ball in the family room, and some plastic cups (Julia got in to the box of paper plates and party supplies).  Jack balanced the ball on top of the cup and Charlotte wasn't impressed, just knocked off the ball.  But when Jack put the cup upside down on top of the ball, she was fascinated!  She looked at it like he'd just done the impossible.

* While we were shopping in Walmart, Jack picked up Charlotte and said to me "I'll be in the car aisle", which I assumed was automotive.  Wrong.  When I went looking for him, I found him in the toy car aisle; he was playing with Charlotte, using a badminton racket to return the Dora soccer ball she was throwing at him.

* I took Kim shopping for material for the back of her quilt (a Home Ec project) and she chose the softest, minkiest brown fabric.  She wanted it to be soft for Charlotte, since she's making a crib sized quilt.  For Charlotte to have a quilt that her big sister made for her, is sweet beyond words.

* When I cleaned out Kim's room the other day I took out a pile of books that she doesn't ready anymore, including a stack of chapter books from my childhood.  Julia has adopted them now and it's heartwarming to see her reading the exact same books that I read as a child - Trumpet of the Swan, Charlotte's Web, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  It's just amazing that my little girl is reading chapter books, and that my daughter is reading books that I read at her age.

* When I came upstairs to go to bed last night, all the lights were off except for the tree lights.  I love Christmas :-)
