She was going to fall asleep on her econ book at this rate, seriously. Rory had no idea how Paris managed to focus so well, but she was dying of boredom.

Maybe she could turn it into a game! Rory stared at the figures a little longer, trying to figure out how to turn her vocabulary words into a song.

After a long shower (during which she managed to get various sea creatures out of her hair), Rory curled up on her bed with Vladdie - and with the window shut, thank you very much - and opened up a book she hadn't read in at least six months.

Rory was taking her few moments to herself to lie on the couch in her grandparents' basement. Her grandparents had gone off to various functions, and it was too humid for her to do anything else - most especially too hot to try to look at that dress her grandmother had picked out. After an exciting afternoon of cookie-baking and finding out about future trips, Rory was back in her room and sitting on her bed, reading A Mencken Chrestomathy.

At least, she was until her phone rang.

Rory realized how long it had been since she had talked to Paris.

Rory was lounging on her bed, thinking about the past few days.
