I just managed to get myself to phone the Job Centre Plus in Farnborough and I can indeed just walk in and get my Student Loans form sorted out.

Now I just have to get myself out there this afternoon....

The Housing Benefit cheque just turned up, just the one day late then. Well technically one day EXTRA late, given it's due on the Monday, but due to this stupid "post a cheque" thing always ends up at least 3 days late, plus time to clear once paid in.
