I spent a very busy weekend running to and fro, seeing movies and old friends, and
generally not having two minutes free to rub together.

I was thoroughly bored with waking up every morning tired and sore from sleeping on the inner-spring mattress that came with my This End Up platform bed, so over the weekend I ordered a new memory-foam/latex blend mattress. Due to a run of totally undeserved good luck, I stepped from one job directly to a new one back in July, without a chance to be Unemployed in between. I had planned on taking a week between jobs as a mental palate-cleansing break, but due to my new boss' schedule, I didn't have that opportunity. Spent Thursday car shopping... I now have a brand new 2010 Ford Focus (my first new car since 1985, btw) and an enormous debt. I could have opted for a used car for only slightly less debt, but with my commute every mile on a car when I buy it is a mile off the life of the thing.
