I couldn't get inspired to make anything for dinner tonight so the boys and I met Eric at a restaurant for dinner. First they told me there was a 25-30 minute wait, and then seated the kids and me before Eric arrived 10 minutes later. My sister got married on Friday! It was a super wedding and I think everyone had a great time. There are pictures posted on firelizards. There aren't many of the ceremony itself since it was requested that we let the professionals handle the photography. But there are lots of dancing pictures from the reception! :)

As of last night I have a new niece! My brother-in-law called us at 1:30 this morning to announce the arrival of their second daughter. I don't have all the details but the important ones are that mom and baby are well! I suspect that they'll still be in the hospital for Thanksgiving, since she was delivered via c-section (which wasn't ( Read more... )

Survived a week at the in-laws, including 5 days and nights without Eric. Woo! Actually, it was pretty nice because I had no particular responsibilities, so in the afternoons when Quinn was napping I could do whatever I wanted. And mostly what I wanted to do was...read!

• Survived 8 day in-law visit without major incident and with less hair-tearing than anticipated (mine, not theirs)
  
• Had a fun birthday party for Quinn with the obligatory chocolaty mess on face, hands, highchair, clothes, etc.
  
• But I experienced the highlight of the in-law visit on the next day when I missed out on cleaning up the chocolate diaper!

Just finished diablo-izing with my parents, mother-in-law, and husband (from his hotel room in PA, running a windows program on his linux laptop - geek alert!), and what a motley crew we make!
