I feel like I repeat myself every week. I've managed to stick to all my on-going resolutions. I even bought a pair of those Reebok Easy Tone shoes. The ones in the commercial with awesome butts and legs. My butt and legs do not look nearly so toned, but it's only been a week. I wandered through a lovely neighborhood today with Ferguson. I typically walk five or six miles on weekends, but they were forecasting thunderstorms today, so I didn't want to stray too far from my car. I used the camera on my Blackberry to take neat pics.

It's nice to have weekends back. When wasn't working, the weekends were just like the weekdays. Now that Jason and I are working again, the weekends feel different--better. We went for a walk in the forest yesterday and saw this beside the road on our way.

Work? It's actually going well. The annual budget is a pain in my ass, but it should be wrapped up by the end of the week. I had to return to the office this evening for the council meeting. Holy crap, I was attacked by killer bees. Okay, I don't know for sure if they were killer bees or not, but they were more aggressive than I've ever seen before. I have been without a job for far too long. It'd be different if I could say that I can't get one, but I've turned down two in the past three months. And I've been terrible about sending out resumes. Jason and I took Ferguson on a long walk early this afternoon. We grabbed sandwiches from a place downtown and walked over to the riverfront park to eat lunch beforehand. There is a walking trail that runs along the river and connects downtown with the State Capitol Complex. We walked the two miles up there and let Ferguson chase the squirrels ( Read more... )

Sometimes I feel like a hopeless basketcase. Yesterday was a horrible day--absolutely horrible beyond all imagining. There was no particular reason for the shitty quality of the day; it just was.
