My next art "project" was going to be a collage using one of the first watercolor prints that I wasn't 100% satisfied with.

That plan changed when I was walking on the beach and found a bunch of sea urchin fragments--my wheels started turning.

I've been in Saipan now for about 2.5 weeks, and I was finally struck with some artistic inspiration over the weekend. It was a culmination of a few things, but mostly it was when I gave up on the idea that I had to *draw* something that another idea could flow in ( Read more... )

I feel like I'm making progress towards deciding what I'll be showing at Artomatic. Today's ApeGrape meeting was particularly helpful.

I continued chopping up my pointy flowers drawing, but this time by hand. I cut strips, rearranged them, and taped them back together. Then I did it again.

I was tired and ready to go to bed at 9; now it's almost midnight, but at least I accomplished something; sort of.

I got my package of photos from flickr today. I printed a few of my sewn leaves to check out the actual quality of the photos and to see how they look as prints. I'm pretty happy with them. I printed some at 8x10 and they cropped them weirdly, so if I ever decide to order more 8x10 prints, I might try sizing the image to 8x10 to order them ( Read more... )
