Cut Up in Photoshop

My sister-in-law Rachel commented on my flickr picture of the pointy flower drawing I did with the different colored background.

She suggested that I take it further digitally to make it seem more mass produced, and to maybe create a more large-scale piece. I wasn't really sure what she meant, but I opened up photoshop again, feeling inspired, and here's what I did:

I copied squares from the original drawing and pasted them into a new document. I purposefully created continuous negative space, but left the sharp edges where pattern was sliced to achieve a disjointed feel throughout the positive space. If you have the time and inclination, I suggest that you view the larger version to see the details.

This is the same basic image as the darker one above, only doubled and one of the sides reflected. Check out the details in the larger view.

There's not as much detail to appreciate in this one, but the edges are very nice in the large view.
