Maia paid her yearly visit to the vet on Tuesday and has a clean bill of health across the board. She has lost some weight since last year, so I'll be keeping an eye on that; the vet said she's still in a good range and her bloodwork is all solidly normal including the thyroid marker, so he didn't voice any concerns about that. Ten years ago on a Wednesday a tortie-cat magically appeared on my doorstep. One nice thing about Facebook is how it reminds you about things you've posted in the past on that date. Today's reminder was a photo of Jeffrey, and I realized that, as of yesterday, it has been nine years since I embarked upon the adventure of being owned by cats. My magical time-traveling kitty is turning 8 this year! I've had her for four lovely years, and I hope we have many more.

I gave her a new catnip toy, as one of her previous ones had to be retired. This was the clearest picture I managed to take of her with it--she was very enthusiastically enjoying it for a while. ;-)

Maia's birthday was last Sunday, but between church stuff and family drama, I didn't remember until 8:40 p.m. as I was getting ready for bed. Oops.
