Maia had her yearly checkup this morning. She's doing great for a nearly teenage cat, and they even (finally) corrected her birthday so she'll no longer be the magical time-traveling kitty. She is getting some tartar buildup on her teeth, but not so bad that we need to do anything about it just yet. Considering she's never had dental work, she's doing pretty good for age.
After that we stopped at campus (Maia stayed in the car, haha), and I rescued my standing desk and a few other things. Then I stopped at Aldi for a few more things (they had four or five of the six checkouts open, geez, but it kept the lines short) and headed home.
My back is all knotted up and I think I'm having a much more minor round of the pain from last month (now I strongly suspect ovulation plays a role), so I think I'll take it easy this weekend. Besides food prep and a few other essentials (like trimming the girls' claws, ow, lol), I'm planning to lie low. Now that I have my standing desk at home, it should help. With time.
And I have time. The governor announced a shelter in place order starting tomorrow evening and going through April 7th. So I'm definitely working at home at least that long, but let's be real, it'll be longer. My massage for Tuesday has been rescheduled for later in April. My chiropractor is staying open and I'm hoping (assuming) that my ultrasound will go forward, since it's a medical appointment and those are still allowed, naturally.
I think the girls are really starting to like me being home, especially since the new desk setup makes a nice sleeping cave under where I'm working, as Hana quickly discovered. Maia prefers to pin me down in the recliner while I'm eating lunch and keep me there far longer than I intend. Ah, cats. ♥
Also... happy birthday to Bro! It's weird to have a birthday in the midst of all this chaos and life has been up in the air for him far longer than the rest of us, but things are looking up and I'm very proud of how well he's held it together. ♥
