I've been reading Jeeves & Wooster books lately, and they are a delight. Tonight I finished Much Obliged, Jeeves (aka Jeeves and the Tie That Binds.) It was published in 1971, and it's the next to last J&W book. It's seriously odd to read a J&W book that mentions overpopulation. A Dangerous Method has its moments, but it never really delivers on its promise. I'm usually a fan of Cronenberg, but as A Dangerous Method wore on, I felt more and more that he wasn't the right director for this material.

( Pros: the acting, some sharp dialogue, the pretty; cons: choppy, stagy, unfocused. )

I watched The Pool in its entirety on YouTube. It was just as dumb as I anticipated based on excerpts. I was amused by the scene ( spoilers, though it's a slasher movie so can I really spoil it by revealing that just about everyone dies? oops. )

I discovered a new comic book series that I'm excited about! I stumbled across it through my usual habit of flipping through everything at the local comic shop that 1) has a woman on the cover who is 2) not drawn in a way that makes me cringe. (Which usually means I look at 2-3 comics per visit.)
