Got a bit accomplished this morning. Went to the hospital to return the Holter monitor I had to wear for two days, and for my pre-admission testing for Mondays esophageal dilation procedure. Mom had been registered as a Republican since marrying Dad in 1963. She had me go to the state Registrar of Voters website a few weeks ago to change that. Her new voter registration card now says the same as mine under "Party", which is "None". She voted the same as I did in the last election. I changed mine in the early 1990's ( Read more... )

Looked up the "Sample Ballot" for my area for the upcoming elections. Got everything decided, even which way I'll be voting on the state constitutional amendments. Only category I WON'T vote at all in this time is "U. S. Representative 5th Congressional District", because NEITHER candidate is for things I believe in.

Back from voting. Only thing on the ballot was a parish sales tax thingy. Looks like a low turnout, since I was the only one there at the time.

Yes, I've come to the conclusion that most of the voters in the state of Louisiana are imbeciles.

First day of training at the job went well. Stopped by on the way home and early voted for the December 6th runoff. Now resting with a big glass of iced tea. Tomorrow's training starts at 7:45am.

Local Congressional election ended in a runoff of two "Teabaggish" candidates. As a result, I won't be voting in the runoff.

Note to local politicians running ads for the Rodney Alexander seat saying you are trying to repeal "Obamacare"...you WON'T get my vote! I'll be able to AFFORD insurance under it with the subsidy for the first time since the mid 1990's!
