Normally, I feel "back to myself" after being knocked out for a procedure. Today, however, I've been home for a little over 7 hours, and still feeling groggy as heck. Guessing because they had me "out" longer than usual today, since I had two different procedures, both one right after the other.

Nothing to eat tomorrow. Just drinking "clear liquids" and two bottles of stuff to "clean me out" for the colonoscopy on Monday. Also, nothing to even DRINK after midnight tomorrow, due to the esophageal dilation procedure the same day.

Tomorrow will be "fun"...NOT!!!

Went to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport Monroe Medical Center this morning for my pre-op testing for the two procedures I'm having Monday. Got the usual COVID test I get before each esophageal dilation procedure. For the other procedure, the prep involves drinking two bottles of liquid the day before, to "clean me out". I'll be visiting the hospital THREE times next week. Tuesday: Pre-admission testing/Covid test (required before a procedure). Wednesday: Appointments with orthopedic doctor about my left arm, then annual diabetic eye exam. Friday: First esophageal dilation procedure in three months.

I'm a mess physically. :-/

Have my post-op appointment in the morning, when I'll get the date of my next esophageal dilation. While there, I'm going to bring up the subject of the pains I'm having in my left arm, to see if THAT doctor might arrange to get it checked out, since my primary care doctor has postponed my usual appointment with him TWICE already because of the ( Read more... )

Just got an email from Ochsner with the results of the COVID test my doctor ordered before having my monthly procedure this Tuesday (yes, it WAS scheduled for Monday, but they changed it AGAIN). No virus detected thank goodness!

Yesterday I posted about the calls, two in the same afternoon) about my monthly EGD procedure. The first, telling me to be there at 6am this morning for it, then the second call saying they wouldn't be able to do it until after they tested me for COVID-19. Just got home from my follow-up to Wednesday's CT scan procedure. Doctor said all looked well, except for my stomach area being oddly placed, but that is normal after having part of your esophagus removed. Mom is going to the grocery store (by herself) in the morning during the designated "senior hour" to pick up a few things.
