It looks like Trump lost in Iowa to Cruz...

Cruz 28%
Trump 24%
Rubio 23%
Carson 9%

And Clinton edged out Sanders by the slimmest of margins...

Clinton 49.9%
Sanders 49.6%

Iowa caucus tomorrow. Exciting. I've been interested, as usual, in this whole thing but I haven't posted anything on LiveJournal about it. That will probably change.

Unexpectedly (to me), Rick Santorum has won three states in the Republican primaries last night. Colorado, Minnesota, and Missouri. He also was declared the winner in Iowa after initially being named a very close runner-up to Mitt Romney.

Romney won in New Hampshire, Florida and Nevada. Gingrich won South Carolina. Ron Paul hasn't won any but ( Read more... )

We went over to celebrate Jenny's 27th birthday yesterday. Adam is still not quite walking on his own yet, just around furniture or with the help of a baby walking thing he can push. We're babysitting him tomorrow for the day...

Christmas is now officially over as we took down the decorations today and put them back up in the attic 'til next time.

The recent Icelandic volcano eruption and subsequent effect on Britain has made me think of this, below...  Also, my father remarked the other day that this 1816 event prompted one branch of my family (the Clarks) to move away from Vermont and start anew in Iowa.... (info below excerpted from Wikipedia):
