The road trip was cut short on account of poor weather. We made it as far as Half Moon Bay, which is about 30ish miles from San Francisco. Then, the weather turned on us. Backpacking this weekend was mostly a success! We spent two nights in the lovely and peaceful backcountry of Sequoia National Park. Arguably the biggest highlight was seeing a black bear and two baby bears!!! The big bear, who we think was momma bear, was in the meadow in the middle of the Giant Forest Trail (the one near the Giant Forest Museum). ( Read more... )

I really want to go to New Mexico. However, I just committed myself to doing a children's musical that will keep my busy for all the weekends in February. On the upside, it will get me extra money. I filed a police report for my bike. Doubt anything will come of it. My roommate may be able to claim the bike on her renter's insurance, which is nice.

My dad periodically gets to go on really cool trips for his job. He recently started doing consulting work, expanding his normal range of travels from Europe to include Asia! He went to Hong Kong and Shenzhen in August. At the end of March, he is going to Shanghai for a week. For once, I actually get to go with him!!!! I've been dying to tag along ( Read more... )

I got a new iPod!! My mom surprised me and got me one a couple of weeks ago. I was able to use it on my last trip to VA. The music really helped me fall asleep for a few hours.
