I made a quick trip to the city market at noon today. Unfortunately, I hadn't eaten anything before I left so you can imagine what happened.

I bought everything in sight.

Besides my usual purchases, I stopped in at the Middle Eastern kiosk and picked up enough goodies for two people.

I have a few treats from my last trip to the market to share with you. I have to admit that this wasn't my favourite assortment as I found that 2 of the items were just too rich for my taste. Still, in moderation, a slice or two can't hurt, right? :)

Now that I'm mobile again, I thought I'd visit 2 places I haven't been to in more than 7 weeks.

The little bakery that's a short distance away ... and then the city market.

I didn't quite make it out as early as I thought and by 2pm when I got to the bakery, most of the buns were gone so from the limited choices left, I bought these 2 kinds.

A while ago, I wanted to treat myself to a leisurely Sunday brunch of soft boiled eggs, freshly baked crescent roll from the bakery to dip into them and a steaming cup of coffee in a nice china cup rather than a mug ( Read more... )

Instead of hitting the market on Saturday morning, as I usually do, I slept in which meant that Sunday I was out the door at the leisurely hour of 11am (the farmer's market opens at 10am on Sundays) to pick up my lunch. This is what I ended up with.
