Well, spring has officially sprung - I saw lambs on my cycle ride this morning (posting this from mid cycle break, sipping delicious apple tea in a tiny cafe in Otley). The countryside between Otley and Harrogate is as beautiful and rich as I remember, all traditional golden stone cottages and halls and rolling green fields of sheep and lambs. ( Read more... )

Rode the same route as I rode before Christmas on Festus. Tyler is about 5 km per hour faster in her relaxed cadence. And we got over the evil hill! Bottom gear is scary (not nearly as easy as Festus has) but the legs co-operated and we got over eventually. I didn't have to stop and flail at all ( Read more... )

In honour of the beautiful new bike, I just spend an evening Googling all the cycling Charity Sportives I can do round here. Fun! Oh, and I threw in a 3 peaks challenge (that's without the bike) just to mix it up a bit.

Very pleased to report that cycling cuts the commute to 15 mins and that apart from one scary road junction it's all pretty quiet. The hill up to the uni at the very end is as evil as expected but t'will do the legs good to have a bit of work in a morning ( Read more... )

I'm glad to say it was enjoyed to the full though I've no voice left aftet marshalling at the Triathlon yesterday morning. My exciting phrase of the day was "BOTH SIDES, you can USE BOTH SIDES! (keep yyour helmet on)". 116 times... Transition is fun y'all ( Read more... )
