6:40 am and though it's not light, it's definitely not dark anymore.

Well, spring has officially sprung - I saw lambs on my cycle ride this morning (posting this from mid cycle break, sipping delicious apple tea in a tiny cafe in Otley). The countryside between Otley and Harrogate is as beautiful and rich as I remember, all traditional golden stone cottages and halls and rolling green fields of sheep and lambs. ( Read more... )

Last long run before the trail run relay next weekend. 19 km (12 miles) over Ilkley Moor in just over 2 hours. So far feeling ok. And the views of Wharfdale were amazing, even got a few minute of sun in amongst all the low cloud blowing over ( Read more... )

So, the first trail race of the season was this morning. Much fun too. Lovely sunny day, great trail through the woods just outside the city. Muchly up and down, but that's what I get for signing up to races in Yorkshire: it's no a flat county, that's for sure ( Read more... )

The cold is clearing (the mucus remains, but what can one do?) and I'm on a train to the local hills to do a bit of hiking in the sun. Should be a lovely day up until about 3 pm so the plan is to walk somewhat briskly and attempt to be inna pub by the time the clouds roll in.

And yus, I have the camera this time. Pics there shall be.

This week we had "introduce school kids to science!" and it was brilliant. Officially brilliant in fact, a kid gave the uni "a billion out of ten" rating on BBC radio two which we are still wallowing in ( Read more... )

So worth it.

Saturday was trail running over the Calderdale hills. Beautiful mix of wooded trails and open moorland and fields. Views going on for miles and miles. Gorgeous.

Sunday was a bit of hedging and then apparently the most intense boxercise class ever which has left any parts of me not over worked, aching and stiff. Woo fitness.

Owww.

Tomorrow the sun rises at half six and goes down at 6. That's my day. That's it. No more need for extra minutes on the SAD light.
