This past week, I picked olives from the neglected european olive trees that are plentiful in downtown Tempe. Now they're packed in a saturated salt solution, where they'll stay to cure for the next six-ish weeks. At the end, I should have (very salty) nontoxic olives. ( Process details. )

The other day, the grocery had whole (very) fresh rainbow trout. I snagged one, and ( did this to it. )

Following up from last time: The blueberry cream cheese braid was delicious, and lasted all of three days.

New: Bagels! A cup of blueberries added to the dough didn't make for a very blueberryish end result, and they probably could've baked a little longer, but they turned out tasty nonetheless ( Read more... )

The Fresh Loaf is a dangerous website. I'm now trying to make a blueberry cream cheese braid, which will hopefully be breakfast and/or snackfood for the rest of the week. I might also make an attempt at doughnuts.

I didn't think I'd like this one, since I'd only ever had canned peas before (which are disgusting), but it turned out surprisingly tasty.
